Shakespeare’s Mom is written by Kate Parlin, a writer and stay-at-home mom to three girls, two of whom are twins. Her writing has been featured in numerous places online including The Huffington Post, The Mid, Scary Mommy, Redbook, In the Powder Room, and MomBabble. Her essay, “Making Space” was featured in the December 2014 issue of Pregnancy and Newborn Magazine, she is a cast member of the 2015 production of Listen To Your Mother in Bangor, Maine, and she is thrilled to have her work will be included in several parenting anthologies. She lives in Maine with her super-cool husband, their gaggle of girls, and a sweet and spunky Jack Russell Terrier. If you’re wondering why this blog is called Shakespeare’s Mom, just read the first post here.
For the purposes of this blog, she calls her three crazy girlies by nicknames:
The Enforcer is the twin who likes to boss everyone around. She likes rules even if she doesn’t always follow them. She also tends to do and say things forcefully. She can be shy, sweet, smart, and affectionate.
Captain Chaos is the twin who brings the fun to the party. Unfortunately, her definition of “fun” is often reallyreally close to other people’s definition of “troublemaking.” Captain Chaos is a fantastic dancer and snuggler, and has the kind of crazy-bright smile that lights up your soul when you see it.
The Baby needs a better nickname, but for now, that’s the one she’s got. She’s a darling, a peach, fun-loving and outgoing. But don’t cross her. She is not to be messed with.
